In recent years, the process of matching workers to jobs has rapidly migrated online, as evidenced by the rising popularity of platforms like Indeed or LinkedIn. It is therefore crucial to gain an understanding of how online labor matching mechanisms operate, how they impact economic outcomes such as employment, wages and inequality, and to identify ways of leveraging the 'big data' generated by online markets. These factors will have significant implications for the future of labor.
